Charity Overview
My personal charity projects all started with a simple idea to create an advertising platform (with inspiration from Google, Facebook etc) that donates 100% of the advertising budget to help those living in poverty.
The adverts are then consumed by users playing fun games, reading positive news, listening to their favourite songs and learning new things!
In September 2022, after designing and building some of the applications, I built a foundation within Indonesia to help orphaned children and remote villages living in poverty, initially through my personal income, with big dreams that the advertising platform (Charity Marketing) and content apps will grow.
An overview of projects:
- Charity Marketing is a platform that allows business to purchase advertising, whilst donating 100% of that advertising to people living in poverty as a charitable act of kindness.
- Happy News is a simple app that shows lots of good news going on in the world, and each article read displays an advert, which subsequently pays for a child to go to school in Indonesia.
- Learn to Give is a very simple quiz app that also donates to schools etc etc and teaches you the correct answer.
- Happy Bird is the loveable game that was once closed because it earned to much money for the creator, so I rebuilt the game with 100% of money created going to pay for food (rice, noodles etc) for those living in poverty.
- GoodMusic is still in its infancy, allowing users to login with Spotify and remix their favourite playlists to up-and-coming artists, whilst playing audio adverts after every 3 songs
The projects are all built with HTML5, Vanilla ES6, ReactJS, NextJS SSR framework, Google Cloud/Dev Tools, AWS, Vercel, Figma, whilst using Stripe as the donation payment processor.
Some of the projects were a fun learning/education process for me as a developer to design, build and engineer the projects - whilst managing the operations of a charitable non-profit organisation within Indonesia.
Projects
The projects are still in their infancy and being worked on, but you can view the collection of content apps (and advertising platform) below:
More fun apps in progress...
With lots of amazing open-source projects available on Github, there will be lots of more fun apps to come (from using the ChatGPT API for homework to a redesigned Pacman game where each "coin" is 10g of rice).
Partner Charities
Together with my friends partner charities, we have done lots of great work in Bali, Indonesia.
Here is an overview of my friends organisations and the great work they have done:
Rescue2000
Rescue 2000 is a non-profit organization created by Cris & Elias Araya, funding charity projects in Bali, Indonesia.
Rescue 2000 aims to connect donors around the globe to the amazing people of Bali by documenting and sharing the harsh reality of their stories. Working together with local Indonesian charities, on a mission to fight the hardships of poverty by providing Food, Water, Shelter, and Education directly to the people who need it the most.
Rice for Bali
Rice for Bali is a charity created by Wayan Anggie, providing rice, water, clothes, wheelchairs, houses and education for those in Bali who need it the most.

The priority is to help the elderly and disabled people who don't get support from government or their family. In alignment with huge donations to the most vulnerable, there are free English language classes for the children in remote areas who cannot afford private lessons.
Rumah Caring
Rikke Christensen created Rumah Caring in 2021, a charity organisation focussing on helping the most vulnerable in remote villages in Bali, with health, housing, food and education.
Rumah Caring are committed to bi-monthly food drop assistance to locals who need basic essential items like food, medication and clean drinking water. The organisation are currently helping around 80 families every month with basic essentials, and providing scholarship education to 21 children who can't afford school.
Future Plans
I'm still developing these apps, but there's lots of cool ideas! For now, I'll leave you with:
